About the sculptor César
Cesar was a member of the New Realist movement, a movement that was born in the 1960s. In 1954, he settles his studio in a site that was previously a factory of metal furniture equipment called Malma, in Villetaneuse. His first exhibition was held in 1954, at the Gallery Lucien Durand in Paris. He won the "Prix des Trois Arts" from the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris for his work "Fish" of 3.40 meters long, which was exposed in the courtyard of the gallery and acquired the year following by the National Museum of Modern Art.
